LAUP's Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference is Scheduled for February 16, 2010 at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

Over 225 will gather together from several area schools, including: Holland Public Schools,West Ottawa Public Schools, Black River High School, Zeeland Public Schools, Fennville Middle School, and South Haven High School.

LAUP's Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference  will include speakers, such as  Andrea Juarez of New Latino Visions in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Speakers will challenge  students to fulfill their potential as individuals who can reach high goals and become persons who give back to their community in positive ways.

 The Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference will also include workshops tailored to adress the unique challenges of Hispanic students. Last year's workshops were:

• Tapping Your Passions/Hot Careers/Different Career Routes
• The Pathway to College/”What I Wish I Had Known in High School”
• Show Me the Money/How Will I Pay for College?
• Leadership in the Community
• Sports and Leadership

LAUP is also inviting recruiters from colleges and universities as well as local youth organizations.
