What is your background/what did you do before LAUP?

I am a Holland native who returned to the area in 2016 after a five years of college. I received bachelor’s in scientific & technical communication, and marketing, from Michigan Technological University. I am a teacher at heart and served as coach in a writing center, and culture / communication center for international students. I’ve had the opportunity of being a teaching assistant for a Spanish course and studied a semester abroad in Spain. My love for learning extends to studies of international Spanish, media, journalism, and global technological leadership.

Why are you excited to take on this role?

I am most passionate about working with people to create unity and generate progressive change. I am excited about utilizing my hispanic background, passion for service, and communication skills, to give back to the Holland community. I especially look forward to working with the LAUP youth programs to inspire the next generation of doers!

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I am a self proclaimed foodie with a love for languages, cultures, and new experiences. When I am not working, I volunteer at Holland Hospital and with the local Red Cross chapter.  I have an insatiable desire to see the world and plan to visit every country one step at a time. I don’t go anywhere without my sense of adventure, deep curiosity, and healthy disregard for the impossible.
