English as a Second Language Classes
LAUP's 2009/2010 school year marks LAUP's fourth year of collaboration with Hope College, holding classes at the Martha Miller Center and utilizing the assistance of Hope's fourth year Spanish students.
 
Bilingual Computer Instruction
LAUP offers two level of instruction in basic computer use, internet, email usage, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Power Point.
 
GED Instruction in Spanish
LAUP offers a class to prepare students to pass the Spanish version of the GED Exam. Classes meet at New Community Fourth Reformed Church (corner of 15th St. and Washington Ave. in Holland), 6:00 - 9:00 PM, Thursdays and Fridays. Classes run year round. Call for details. (616) 392-5058
 
Document Translation
LAUP offers document translation from Spanish to English and Vice-versa.
   
Assistance
LAUP's commitment to assist individuals with a variety of needs  remains as strong as ever. LAUP continues to be a source of aide to all individuals needing help with a variety of issues like employment and housing. LAUP has strong partnerships with organizations who specialize in meeting client needs and serves as the point of connection for the Hispanic community to those agencies.
   
Legal Services Center
LAUP provides legal services to fill gaps in legal service representation for the indigent of West Michigan.  LAUP Legal Services is staffed by a bilingual attorney who maintains weekly office hours.  New clients are accepted only after an initial consultation with the attorney and are held on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays from 12pm—6pm.  The consultation fee is $20.00 and is due at the time of consultation.  Additional fees are charged for accepted cases.
