Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP) proudly presented Fiesta Week 2024, a vibrant celebration of Latinx culture, uniting the community of Holland, MI, from July 15th to July 21st. Marking the 60th annual Fiesta, this year’s event was the largest and most dynamic yet, with a week-long array of festivities.
Fiesta Week 2024 brought together a vibrant mix of cultural activities, entertainment, and community engagement, featuring over 80 table partners that included resources, vendors, and community organizations. This impressive lineup ensured that attendees had access to a wide range of services and information, enhancing the overall community experience.
One of the standout achievements of this year’s Fiesta was the remarkable investment in the event. LAUP allocated over 30% more funding compared to previous years, making it the largest investment in Fiesta’s history. This substantial financial commitment underscored the organization’s dedication to making Fiesta Week 2024 an unforgettable celebration.
“We are thrilled with the success of our first-ever Fiesta Week in Holland,” said Johnny Rodriguez, President/CEO of LAUP. “Our investment and the overwhelming support from our partners and community members have made this a truly historic event. We met all of our goals and provided a platform for celebrating our rich Latino heritage while fostering community unity.”
The festivities throughout the week included cultural performances, authentic food, educational symposiums, dance and music events, and a grand car show, among other attractions. The week-long format allowed for a more extensive and immersive experience, attracting thousands of attendees from Holland and beyond.
LAUP’s commitment to celebrating Latino culture and supporting the community remains steadfast, as evidenced by the unprecedented success of Fiesta Week 2024. The organization looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to serve as a bridge for cultural exchange and community development.
